Using the web browser

Using the web browser over the years has became easier and easier so nowerdays it seems to be alot more sensible to check what features your browser has got so you can use them to your best advantage.

Browsers recently have been made capable to recognize voices. Opera currently allows it’s users to speak to it, commanding it what to do. You would start by saying ‘Opera’ followed by a command such as ‘New Window’, opening a new window to browse in, or ‘Quit Application’ to close the program.

Many web browsing programs now have the capability to use widgets, special built in gadgets which can help you with tasks, or just something fun to mess around with. For example, some browsers have calendars, clocks, rulers and more built in to make your life easier, and some have games that can be played, like simulations.

Web browsers no longer just browse the web, they make everyday tasks a hell of a lot easier. For instance some browsers allow you to keep notes and reminders so that you know when an important event is coming up, or they can remember your password so you don’t have to log in all the time.

Some browsers have built in popup blockers, keeping all that junk out of the way, and just giving you a nice, clean, hazard free surf of the net.

I would certainly like to see more computer training clases for the elderly or just people who generally want to learn teaching about the useful features most web browsers have, including finding out vital information, searching the help pages, basic commands and also the security and speed you need as a user of a specific browser.
